Catalyst keeps two separate forms of behavior data: Per Behavior and ABC data.  Per Behavior data includes behaviors being recorded with a frequency counter, a rate timer, a duration timer, partial interval recording, and momentary time sample recording.  ABC data includes data on behaviors that include antecedents, consequences, and locations.

Frequency

A frequency behavior is used to record the number of times a specific behavior occurs.  In order to collect Frequency data on your device, tap the behavior tab, and then the Frequency button at the bottom of the behavior window.

You can also access the frequency counters from the bottom of the screen.

In order to view graphs for Per Behavior Frequency counts, click on the Behavior Reduction tab and click on the graph column for the desired behavior.

A graph will then be displayed.  To learn more about graphing features please visit Graphing Features.

Rate

A rate behavior is used to measure how often a behavior occurs within a set observation time period. Rates can be measured by:

  • Count/minute
  • Count/5 minutes
  • Count/10 minutes
  • Count/15 minutes
  • Count/Hour
  • Total Count
  • Total Duration
  • Average Duration
  • Time of Day

In order to collect Rate data on your device, tap the behavior tab and then the Rate button at the bottom of the behavior window.

In order to view graphs for Per Behavior Rate counts, click on the Behavior Reduction tab and click on the graph column for the desired behavior.

A graph will then be displayed.  You can choose several different types of graphs from the drop down menu.  To learn more about graphing features please visit Graphing Features.

Duration

A duration behavior is used to measure the length of time a targeted behavior occurs.  In order to collect Duration data on your device, tap the behavior tab and then the Duration button at the bottom of the behavior window.

In order to view graphs, click on the Behavior Reduction tab and click on the graph column for the desired behavior.

A graph will then be displayed.  You can choose several different types of graphs from the drop down menu.  To learn more about graphing features please visit Graphing Features.

Partial Interval

A partial interval behavior measures whether a behavior occurred at any point within a specified time interval and is graphed as percentage of intervals in which the target behavior was observed.  In order to collect Partial Interval data on your device, tap the behavior tab and then the Partial Interval button at the bottom of the behavior window.

In order to view graphs for Partial Interval Recording, click on the Behavior Reduction tab and click on the graph column for the desired behavior.

A graph will then be displayed.  To learn more about graphing features please visit Graphing Features.

Momentary Time Sampling

A momentary time sampling behavior is a measure used to capture whether a specific behavior is occurring at a predetermined time interval.  It is graphed as a percentage of intervals in which the target behavior was observed.  In order to collect Momentary Time Sampling data on your device, tap the behavior tab and then the Duration button at the bottom of the behavior window.

In order to view graphs for Momentary Time Sampling, click on the Behavior Reduction tab and click on the graph column for the desired behavior.

A graph will then be displayed.  To learn more about graphing features please visit Graphing Features.
